Plant Precaster

Immediate Supervisor: Plant Crew Leader / Supervisor A Precast Plant employee supports the daily production activities of the precast concrete manufacturing facility. This employee will participate on a team to produce precast concrete structures with exceptional safety and quality practices. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Daily meeting with Supervisor to understand the production and specific tasks.
  • Responsible for participating in the manufacturing of precast structures: comprehending drawings, utilizing tape measure, operating hand and power tools.
  • Set up forms for production, placing reinforcement, embeds and hardware according to drawings.
  • Help with concrete placement, vibrating and finishing.
  • Remove forming, stripping finished precast products.
  • Prepare material for next-day production, keeping a positive inventory available and alerting the Supervisor for supplies.
  • Maintain a positive, reliable and team-focused attitude.

Quality and Safety

  • Positively contribute to the safe working environment by conducting oneself in a professional manner.
  • Follow all company safety policies, including PPE requirements and proper attire.
  • Ensure all products are built in accordance with production drawings with regard to the highest quality standards.
  • Support clean-up and housekeeping tasks throughout the entire shift.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Prior experience in construction, concrete or manufacturing is a plus. Ability to receive training is required.
  • Ability to take direction from Supervisors and complete assigned tasks.
  • Basic mechanical skills and the ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to read production drawings and set-up forms.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Ability to work efficiently and safely in a production environment.
  • Reliable attendance, transportation and willingness to work overtime when needed.

Schedule Requirements

  • Must be able to start 6:00 AM daily.
  • Monday – Friday, 40+ hours per week (depending on workload) with potential for overtime and weekends as required.

Physical Requirements

  • Required to stand, walk, reach, climb, bend, crouch, kneel.
  • Stand for at least 8-hour shift.
  • Ability to climb in and around concrete/forms.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs. several times a day.
  • Perform manual labor and utilize various hand tools.

Work Environment

  • Production facility with exposure to loud noise and equipment with moving mechanical parts.
  • Work is performed on a concrete floor subject to ambient temperatures, at times can be subjected to adverse weather conditions.
