Gillespie Precast, LLC is seeking a Boom & Tractor-Trailer Truck Operator (CDL A + 2 Years’ Experience Required) to join our growing team. We are a family-owned and operated company that values our drivers and offers stable, year-round work.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Learn and follow the company’s safety program and always perform safe work practices.
• Safely and efficiently operate a boom truck, tractor-trailer truck, and flatbed to transport precast concrete structures to and from production sites to various customer job sites as directed by the plant manager and/or dispatcher.
• Ensure all delivery records are processed accurately and on time.
• Maintain good customer relations by acting in a professional and courteous manner.
• Be a team player and maintain a positive attitude with other team members.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, plant operators, other drivers, and customers to ensure proper delivery and placement while providing best-in-class service.
• Visually inspect the quality of concrete structures before strapping down the product to leave the plant.
• Perform daily pre-trip inspections including tire pressure, brakes, air pressure, fluid levels, and lights (headlights, brake lights, running lights, etc.).
• Conduct daily preventative truck maintenance.
• Demonstrate a reliable work ethic and self-motivation.
• Ensure environmental and DOT requirements are always followed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Age: Must be at least 23 years of age.
• License: Possess a valid CDL driver’s license (Class A required) with a current medical card and the ability to pass a DOT drug screening.
• Experience: Minimum one (1) year of CDL driving experience with a clean driving record for the last 5 years.
• Endorsements: Must possess or have the ability to obtain an Air-Brake Endorsement prior to hire.
• Communication:
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Understand written and oral instructions in English.
  • Interpret safety rules, sales tickets, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Technical Skills: Basic computer skills and ability to use a tablet.
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to establish and maintain respectful working relationships with other staff.
• Flexibility: Strong work ethic with the ability to work varied hours, overtime, and weekends as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. several times daily.
• Must be able to stand, walk, crouch, squat, bend, reach, grasp, lift, load, push, and pull throughout the day.
• Must be able to climb up and down multiple times throughout the day.
