In 1922, George Edward Gillespie laid the foundation for what would become a lasting family legacy creating concrete blocks for a milk house on his small Sudlersville farm. Recognizing a growing need in the community, he brought his son Victor into the business, and together they established Gillespie & Son, Inc, moving operations to Chestertown, MD. As demand continued that vision has grown into a trusted family of companies five generations strong—Gillespie & Son, Inc, DCS and Gillespie Precast LLC—serving the Mid-Atlantic with unmatched quality in ready-mix and precast concrete. With three NPCA-certified plants and a century of craftsmanship behind them, the Gillespie family continues to lead with heart.
